In Arabic, takaful تكافل means “sharing the burdens” of support and mutual aid as a community.

In other words, we got us.

Expect a joyful evening of celebration, halal food, and music. Featuring special performances from our AYO youth, dj Mansaf Mama, and special guests Omar Offendum in collaboration with local oud player Clarissa Bitar, weaving storytelling, hip hop, and song to honor the proud history and legacy of the Arab community in the United States and beyond…

AROC is the only organization in Northern California that builds power for our people by providing critical legal support and social services while organizing our community around issues of justice and equity. Low income and working-class Arab and Muslim communities struggle with a lack of representation and access to important services offered by the city of San Francisco, including Arabic language translation, CalFresh and Medicare, affordable housing, and much more. At the same time, because of ongoing conflicts in the Arab region, there has been an exponential growth of Arab communities in the Bay Area. We have achieved important wins locally and nationally in collaboration with and in support of our growing community.
