We are fundraising to empower our youth to fight back and win

Thank you to all those who have mobilized to defend and support Arab and Muslim students against racist backlash in San Francisco!

San Francisco Unified School District has officially moved spring break in order to accommodate the Eid holiday, to be celebrated by SF students in 2024!

But the fight is not over! While we are pleased with this development, let us be clear that this issue is not resolved. The next step the Board of Education must take is to permanently recognize Eid as official policy by removing the stay on the original Eid resolution!

We are calling on our community to donate to help bolster our campaign demanding that the school district uphold their decision to add Eid to the SFUSD calendar that took place back in August 2022.

Your donation will help us keep building power for our youth. We are grateful to our community for your continued support.

We are the Arab Youth Organizing: In 2008, Arab youth—ranging in ages from 14 to 22—came together for an 8-day leadership training program led by AROC. The experience was so empowering that the youth participants decided to continue their work together and to extend that work towards the betterment of not only the Arab community, but for other marginalized groups in the Bay Area. This decision marked the formation of Arab Youth Organizing (AYO). Developing a strong and organized base of Arab youth paved the way for AROC to deepen relationships with the larger community and to build out its adult membership.
